Faculty Students Participated in a Field Training Internship in the Quba District
Fourth-year students majoring in Biology, Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture, and Plant Protection at the Faculty of Biology participated in a field training internship in the Quba District.
The primary objective of the internship was to enable students to connect their theoretical knowledge with practical experience and to develop their research skills through the study of flora and fauna species found in natural ecosystems.
During the field training internship, students collected samples of various plant species, observed their morphological characteristics, and became familiar with their distribution areas and ecological significance. In addition, observations were conducted on the species diversity, habitats, and biological features of vertebrate and invertebrate animals found in the study area.
Students majoring in Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture gained practical experience in assessing the ecological condition of local water bodies and acquired knowledge about the diversity of aquatic organisms and the characteristics of aquatic ecosystems. Students specializing in Plant Protection carried out practical investigations on pests, plant pathogens, and methods of their control in agricultural and natural vegetation areas.
As part of the internship, students also obtained practical knowledge of biodiversity conservation, ecological monitoring methods, and the procedures for collecting and processing biological samples. Field observations contributed to increasing students’ interest in scientific research and strengthening their professional training.
The field training internship provided students with an opportunity to develop their skills in observation, analysis, and assessment in natural environments, as well as to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice. Such field internships play an important role in the training of future biology specialists.
