The Faculty of Biology Hosted Bachelor's Graduation Thesis and Master's Dissertation Defenses
The Faculty of Biology has successfully concluded the defense of Bachelor’s graduation theses and Master’s dissertations.
The defenses were conducted before the State Attestation Commissions established for the relevant academic programs and specializations within the Faculty. During the sessions, undergraduate and graduate students presented the results of their research conducted throughout their studies and answered questions from the commission members regarding their work.
The State Attestation Commissions were chaired by:
- Academician Irada Huseynova – Biotechnology;
- Corresponding Member of ANAS Panah Muradov – Biology;
- Professor Shaig Ibrahimov, Doctor of Biological Sciences – Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture;
- Associate Professor Vugar Karimov, PhD in Biology – Plant Protection;
- Rana Mammadova, PhD in Biology – Food Engineering.
Between July 1 and 10, a total of 148 fourth-year undergraduate students defended their graduation theses, including:
- 93 students in Biology,
- 16 in Biotechnology,
- 14 in Plant Protection,
- 13 in Food Engineering, and
- 12 in Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture.
At the Master’s level, 50 graduate students successfully defended their dissertations across 20 specializations within two academic programs.
Throughout the defense sessions, the commissions evaluated the students’ and graduate students’ theoretical knowledge, research skills, scientific approach to their topics, and presentation abilities.
