Biology faculty students have successfully completed their pedagogical internship
The effectiveness of the educational and upbringing processes in the education system directly depends on the scientific level, commitment to ethical values, and practical training of pedagogical personnel. Fourth-year students of the "Biology Teaching" program at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University have successfully completed their pedagogical internship, which began in February 2025.
The preparatory stage of the internship, which officially started on February 17, 2025, was marked by large-scale training sessions held in the main auditorium of the Biology Faculty. During the training, the faculty dean, Professor Afat Mammadova, the faculty internship supervisor, Associate Professor Nazakat Huseynova, and Deputy Dean Kamala Asadova addressed the students, providing them with detailed information and emphasizing the purpose and importance of the internship.
Methodist instructors, including Assoc. Prof. Alisəfa Samadov, Assoc. Prof. Zemfira Komachkova, Assoc. Prof. İrada Babayeva, Assoc. Prof. Naila Abdullayeva, teachers Mohubbat Najafli, Natavan Bakhshaliyeva, Konul Hajiyeva, teacher Afat Bayramova, and psychologist Aysel Hajiyeva also participated and provided professional advice to the students.
The students conducted their internship in several well-known general education institutions located in the Yasamal, Sabail, and Nasimi districts, including School No. 53, the Lyceum for Young Talents, School No. 18, the 132–134 Education Complex, School-Lyceum No. 6, Hədəf Lyceum, and Schools No. 5 and 240.
A total of 87 fourth-year students were assigned to these schools. They attended classes accompanied by subject teachers and methodologists, conducted their own lessons, and demonstrated their pedagogical skills. Their practice journals and summaries were monitored and evaluated by methodologists and school leadership. Lesson analyses were conducted, methodological recommendations provided, and both individual and group work with students was assessed.
At the final stage of the internship, students presented their reports to a commission established by the faculty. These reports reflected the knowledge and skills they acquired during the internship. The students’ practical activities were comprehensively reviewed and evaluated. This process served as a significant stage for self-assessment and professional development of the participants.
