On May 25, Baku State University (BSU) hosted the IV Republican Olympiad in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography among university students, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.
The Olympiad aimed to further improve the quality of training highly qualified specialists in these scientific fields in the Republic of Azerbaijan, identify and support talented students, encourage their involvement in research activities, and promote scientific knowledge among university students.
Organized by Baku State University, the Olympiad brought together students from several higher education institutions across the country, including ADA University, Karabakh University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Sumgait State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Baku Higher Oil School, and Baku Engineering University.
A total of 262 students participated in the competition, including 50 students in Physics, 49 in Mathematics, 52 in Chemistry, 56 in Biology, and 55 in Geography.
The examination questions were prepared by experienced academics and were designed in accordance with the standards and difficulty level required for academic Olympiads. Participants were given three hours to complete the tasks. Upon completion, the answer sheets were submitted to a jury panel composed of representatives from various higher education institutions for evaluation.
