The defense of bachelor's theses has commenced at the Faculty of Biology
The defense process of bachelor's theses has commenced at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University. The defenses are being held from June 30 to July 10, 2025, covering a total of 152 students. Specialized committees have been formed for the following degree programs: Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Protection, and Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture.
The committees are chaired by prominent figures from the fields of science and public service. The chair of the Biotechnology committee is Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources; the Plant Protection committee is led by Jafar Maharramov, Deputy Chairman of the Agricultural Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan; the Biology committee is chaired by Ogtay Gasimov, Director of the Institute of Biophysics under the Ministry of Science and Education; and the Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture committee is headed by Shaig Ibrahimov, Deputy Director of the Scientific Center of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia under ANAS.
All necessary conditions have been created to ensure that the thesis defense process is conducted at a high level and with full objectivity. During the defenses, students present the contributions of their research work, discuss their findings, and outline future prospects.
