Students of the Faculty of Biology participated in an excursion to the Central Botanical Garden

An educational excursion to the Central Botanical Garden was organized by the Bioteam Club of the Faculty of Biology.
The main purpose of the excursion was to familiarize students with plant diversity, reinforce their theoretical knowledge in botany through practical observations, and develop their scientific observation skills.
During the excursion, Aytan Huseynova, Head of the Laboratory of Tropical and Subtropical Plants at the Central Botanical Garden, provided students with detailed information about the biodiversity of tropical and subtropical plants, their morphological and ecological characteristics, mechanisms of adaptation to climatic conditions, as well as their importance from scientific research and conservation perspectives.
Throughout the visit, students became acquainted with various plant species at the Central Botanical Garden and conducted observations on live plant specimens. The excursion enabled them to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom in a practical setting and contributed to a broader understanding of plant systematics, morphology, and ecology.
The educational excursion was met with great interest by the participants and proved beneficial in expanding the students’ scientific outlook.
