Students of the Faculty of Biology have begun their industrial internship

At the Faculty of Biology, the industrial internship for fourth-year students for the Spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year has officially commenced. The internship has been implemented starting from February 16, 2026, and is organized across various scientific research institutes, government agencies, and private enterprises according to students’ specializations.
On the occasion of the launch of the internship, Dean Afat Mammadova met with the students. Heads of departments and internship supervisors also attended the meeting. Opening the event, the Dean emphasized that industrial internship is an integral and important stage of the higher education process, noting that the application of theoretical knowledge in a practical environment plays a decisive role in students’ professional development.
In her speech, the Dean stated that integration with real production and scientific environments is essential for training specialists who meet the demands of the modern labor market and possess analytical thinking and practical skills. She advised students to be responsible, disciplined, and proactive during their internship period, to adhere to ethical standards of conduct, to strictly follow safety regulations, and to represent the university with dignity.
It was noted that students majoring in Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Protection, Food Engineering, and Water Bioresources and Aquaculture are undertaking their internships at scientific research institutes under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as institutions subordinate to the Ministries of Agriculture, Health, Ecology and Natural Resources, and other organizations.
Depending on the specialization and host institution, the internship period will continue from February through May. Students will participate in laboratory analyses, molecular-genetic research, agrobiological monitoring, organization of production processes, quality control, and other professionally oriented activities.
The Faculty of Biology considers the industrial internship a strategically important stage in strengthening the practical component of higher education, developing students’ professional competencies, and expanding their future career opportunities.
