Professor Sibel Taş from Bursa Uludağ University Delivered a Scientific Seminar at Baku State University
Professor Sibel Taş from the Department of Biology at Bursa Uludağ University delivered a seminar titled “Experimental Hypothyroidism Models” at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University.
The main purpose of the seminar was to explain the significance of experimental models of hypothyroidism induced in laboratory animals, a condition that develops as a result of insufficient secretion of thyroid hormones. Professor Sibel Taş presented the pathophysiological mechanisms of hypothyroidism and various experimental models, while discussing the future prospects of research in this field. She also emphasized the importance of dietary, surgical, pharmacological, genetic, radioactive, and immunological models used to induce hypothyroidism.
During the seminar, she highlighted that hypothyroidism manifests in various clinical forms and that thyroid hormone deficiency affects different organs and tissues, leading to a wide range of morphological and clinical symptoms. Recommendations on how researchers can benefit from these models were also a key focus of the seminar.
At the end of the seminar, Professor Taş shared advice with researchers working on the diagnosis and treatment of hypothyroidism regarding the use of experimental models and the analysis of laboratory results.
The seminar made a significant contribution to the advancement of research in this area and provided new insights for local scientists.
