Graduates of the Faculty of Biology conducted a seminar for students on opportunities for studying abroad through dual degree programs and government scholarships

An information session and alumni meeting on international study opportunities was organized for students of the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University. As part of the event, students were provided with detailed information about international scholarship programs, the state scholarship program, and, in particular, dual degree opportunities.
During the meeting, the academic and practical experience gained by the alumni while studying abroad was discussed extensively. At the same time, special attention was given to the prospects of applying this experience in Azerbaijan in the future and to its potential contribution to the country’s scientific capacity.
Speaking at the event, the alumni shared useful recommendations regarding the characteristics of the education system at foreign universities, the research environment, admission requirements, and preparation for the IELTS examination. Held in a discussion format, the meeting was of practical importance in answering students’ questions and helping them shape their future educational strategies.
It should be noted that Edgar Shahbazov, a graduate of the dual degree program, is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Biology and Health of The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Another graduate, Jafar Ashumov, is pursuing doctoral studies at the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan while also working as a senior laboratory assistant. Emilia Baghiyeva is planning to continue her doctoral studies in Israel.
The event is regarded as an important step toward increasing students’ awareness of international education opportunities, supporting their academic development, and especially encouraging them to benefit from state programs and dual degree opportunities.
