Farayat Ahmadova celebrates her 75th anniversary today
Farayat Ahmadova was born on April 24, 1950, in the city of Shaki. In 1976, she graduated from the Faculty of Biology of ADU (now Baku State University) with a specialization in Microbiology. In 1991, she defended her candidate’s dissertation in Microbiology at the Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy and was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences. In 2008, she defended her doctoral dissertation in Baku and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences. Since 2014, she has been working as a professor at the faculty.
Her scientific focus is primarily directed toward the microbiological research of Azerbaijan's thermal waters. She is the author of more than 160 scientific works, including co-author of one textbook, two teaching manuals, one monograph, co-author of one invention, as well as the author of two methodological guidelines for bachelor’s and master’s levels and numerous course programs.
Farayat Ahmadova also actively contributes to the social life of the Faculty of Biology. She served as the deputy chair of the Faculty’s Teaching and Methodological Council for over 10 years and is currently the founder and head of the "Kharibulbuls" girls' club operating at the faculty.
F.R. Ahmadova currently works as a professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Baku State University. Throughout her career, she has repeatedly been awarded certificates of honor by the university administration (2009, 2012), monetary awards, a Certificate of Honor by the New Azerbaijan Party Yasamal District Organization for her public-political activities and contributions during the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” (2023), and the Jubilee Medal by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Baku State University (2019).
