BioDay 2025: Baku State University Students' Trip to Hirkan Dedicated to the International Day for Biological Diversity
As part of the field training program for students of the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU), an educational trip to Hirkan National Park was organized. Within the framework of the trip, students participated in an awareness event titled “BioDay 2025,” dedicated to the International Day for Biological Diversity.
The event was jointly organized based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Baku State University and the Biodiversity Conservation Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, aimed at strengthening integration in the fields of education and science.
A total of 144 students took part in the awareness event and became acquainted with the unique and endemic species-rich ecosystems of Hirkan National Park, which is included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
The event significantly contributed not only to enhancing students’ knowledge about biodiversity conservation, ecological balance, and sustainable development principles, but also to the development of their scientific research skills, practical understanding of biodiversity, and the formation of ecological awareness.
