An interfaculty “Khamsa” intellectual competition dedicated to 31 December – World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day was held at Baku State University (BSU), jointly organized by the Student Scientific Societies of the Faculties of Biology and Ecology and Soil Science.
In addition to being devoted to this significant day symbolizing the national unity and solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, the event aimed to reveal students’ intellectual potential and to enhance their knowledge and worldview.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs.
At the opening ceremony of the intellectual competition, Konul Aslanova, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, delivered a speech emphasizing the important role of such scientific and intellectual events in students’ personal and academic development. This was followed by a speech from Yusif Abiyev, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations of the Faculty of Biology, who spoke about the importance of interfaculty cooperation and wished success to the participants.
Subsequently, Raul Imanov, Chairman of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, addressed the participants, provided information about the objectives of the event, and gave a detailed explanation of the rules of the “Khamsa” intellectual competition.
At the conclusion of the event, Rasim Abbaszadeh, Chairman of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Biology, noted that such joint initiatives contribute to strengthening scientific interest and team spirit among students.
At the end of the intellectual competition, which took place in an atmosphere of high competition and great interest, the “Evrika” team distinguished itself among nine teams with its knowledge and quick thinking skills and was declared the winner and awarded accordingly.
