As part of the events dedicated to Science Day, a training program in “Clinical Biochemistry” was organized by the Young Oncogenetics Researchers Group operating under the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University. The program, held from February 15 to 20, consisted of both theoretical and practical phases.
The theoretical component of the training was conducted by Nigar Huseynova, Deputy Chair of the Young Oncogenetics Researchers Group. During this stage, participants were introduced to the fundamental principles of clinical biochemistry, modern methods used in laboratory diagnostics, the clinical significance of biochemical parameters, and the interpretation of analytical results.
The practical phase was organized at the biochemical laboratory of the Ellab Diagnostic Center. During the hands-on sessions, students became familiar with the operating principles of modern laboratory analyzers and observed the stages of the analytical process by working with real samples. Explanations were also provided regarding laboratory safety regulations and quality control mechanisms.
It should be noted that the primary objective of the training program was to enhance the clinical laboratory knowledge of students studying biology and genetics, familiarize them with contemporary diagnostic methods, and develop their practical competencies.
The program was met with strong interest from participants, and similar trainings in this field are planned for the future.
