A scientific seminar on the topic “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Biology” was held

A scientific seminar on the topic “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Biology” was held at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University for faculty members, young researchers, and students.
The keynote speaker of the seminar was Rafiq Alekbarov, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology. The event focused on a detailed discussion of the role, application areas, and future prospects of artificial intelligence technologies at the current stage of biological science.
During his presentation, Rafiq Alakbarov highlighted the capabilities of artificial intelligence algorithms in biological data processing, the analysis of large-scale scientific datasets, genomics, proteomics, biomedical image analysis, ecological modeling, and biodiversity monitoring. It was noted that AI-based methods complement classical research approaches, enabling more accurate, faster, and more reliable results.
The seminar also presented examples of the application of machine learning, deep learning models, and automated decision-making systems in biology and biotechnology, supported by concrete cases from international scientific practice. The speaker placed special emphasis on the new research directions and multidisciplinary collaboration opportunities that these technologies create for young researchers.
The event continued in an interactive discussion format. Seminar participants posed questions and exchanged views on the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research, ethical considerations, and the importance of training qualified specialists in this field.
