A scientific seminar entitled “Research on New Biomarkers in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer” was held
Another scientific seminar dedicated to “Science Day” was held at the Faculty of Biology. The seminar addressed a highly relevant topic and was attended by the faculty administration, academic staff, master’s students, and doctoral candidates.
During the seminar, Leyla Karimova, a doctoral candidate of the Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry, delivered a presentation entitled “Research on New Biomarkers in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer.” In her presentation, she discussed the investigation of diagnostically significant indicators in blood serum across different biological types of breast cancer, the study of relationships between novel biomarkers and traditional biochemical parameters, and the analysis of gene mutations in HER2-negative cases.
The speaker shared the results of her research conducted between 2023 and 2025, based on the clinical and laboratory findings of 89 women examined at the National Oncology Center. She also informed the audience about the modern methods applied in her study.
Scientific discussions were held around the topic, questions were answered, and the scientific and practical significance of the research was emphasized.
